Maternal and Perinatal Outcomes in Obstetric ARDS Under the New Global Framework

Acute respiratory distress syndrome in pregnancy is uncommon, but when it occurs, it can change the course of both maternal and neonatal care within hours. The challenge is not only the severity of lung injury. It is also the fact that pregnancy changes oxygen demand, respiratory mechanics, haemodynamics, and the threshold at which clinicians must think about fetal wellbeing.
