Cesarean delivery rates have been rising globally, raising concerns about the potential risks associated with repeat cesarean sections. In southwestern Uganda, where healthcare resources are limited and maternal health challenges persist, understanding the impact of a single prior cesarean delivery on subsequent birth outcomes is critical. This blog post examines findings from four observational studies conducted at a tertiary referral hospital in this region, highlighting the association between a previous cesarean and adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. The insights aim to inform healthcare providers and researchers about the risks and guide clinical decision-making to improve maternal and neonatal health.
